What a great accomplishment on becoming a Montana Certified School Business Official!

To receive the Montana Certified School Business Official (MCSBO) certification, an applicant must: 

(1) maintain current active membership in MASBO, 

(2) attend and complete 120 hours of training related to the position of district clerk/business manager, 

(3) within a three year period pass all three (3) tests designed to show proficiency in the subject areas of testing, and upon successfully passing the tests, 

(4) complete 120 hours of additional training.  

Subject areas on the test are related to the various areas of responsibility typically expected of a Clerk/Business Manager, such as board meetings/minutes, elections, payroll, school finance, budgeting and accounting, pupil transportation, personnel management, student activity funds, purchasing, food service, school law, risk management, records management, facilities management, ethics and bonds/bond elections.
