January Health Tip

According to the CDC influenza is on the rise as we venture further into 2019.  Madison County has lucked out with no reported cases, but there are a lot of influenza like illnesses (ILI) being reported nationwide.  So far influenza has reached 32 counties in Montana: 274 cases, 19 hospitalizations, and 2 deaths (one pediatric). As influenza is on the rise we want to do our best to keep it out of our school.  Please be diligent with children and handwashing, and if your child has a fever of 100.5 or greater, vomiting, and/or diarrhea please keep them home for rest and extra fluids. Ideally we would like children to be symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school. This will help us tremendously in not spreading influenza like illnesses around our school.  Let’s keep influenza out of Madison County! If you have any questions regarding an illness that your child is experiencing you can always call our School Nurse for insight. Just ask for Whitney 682-4237.
