November 5, 2020
Dear Ennis Mustang Families and Community,
On Thursday, November 5, 2020, the Ennis School District was notified by the Madison County Health Department that a staff member at Ennis Schools had tested positive for COVID-19. The positive test was confirmed on November 5, 2020.
As a result of the Madison County Health Department’s investigation of this specific case, not one student was determined to meet the CDC’s definition of a close contact during the period of possible exposure. Unfortunately, it was determined that two staff members were determined to be close contacts during the period of possible exposure and are following quarantine orders at this time.
On Friday, November 6, school will be business as usual for all students K-12.
Please note that we will strictly adhere to privacy laws during a health pandemic outbreak and will not disclose identifiable information of those who have been affected. We recommend that any person who feels sick should stay home and seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.
We are taking this positive case seriously and continue to prepare the school daily and nightly through adequate cleaning and disinfecting protocols.
We remind families to be patient and understanding during this challenging time. Our priority is to keep our school doors open and need your cooperation in helping make that happen.
School officials will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information if and when it becomes available. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
Ennis Schools Superintendent
