Read Across America celebrated at Ennis Schools
March 12th – 16th our school celebrated Read Across America. This is NEA’s annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading. The event usually happens on March 2nd, which is the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.   With our girls’ basketball team being in the state tournament, we delayed our week by 10 days.  Each classroom set a reading goal and sometime during each day would “Drop Everything and Read.”  Every day had a dress-up theme.  The kids made placemats for the Senior Center, showcasing their favorite book.  The week was concluded with a pajama/movie party in the gym.
