Wylie Connor with his award winning sculpture

Montana Skills USA conducted a Virtual State Conference this year. Ennis High School had 5 students participating in State events including both Welding Sculpture and Combination Welding. Students were able to work on projects and practice in the high school shop during work days/evenings to prepare for State events throughout the year.

Drake Blair competed in Combination Welding which included following a set of welding plans and utilizing all welding processes.

Tyler Rolfe, Benito Sorensen, Tait Olson, and Wylie Connor all competed in Welding Sculpture. They each created different sculptures from various found materials welded together. These sculptures are displayed online at www.skillsusamontana.weebly.co...

Wylie Connor received the Bronze Award. Mary Heller, the Skills USA State Director, was here on Monday, April 26 to award Wylie his Bronze Medal. He was also given a new welding helmet as part of his award.

Congratulations to Wylie and all of our Skills USA competitors!
