Dear Ennis Mustang Families and Ennis Community,

What a beautiful Friday. We hope that your week was a great one and hope you have an enjoyable weekend planned!

This week we had a school board meeting on Wednesday at 5pm. The meeting was fairly short and not too many major decisions were made.  A talking point that continues is the bus route option with the town of Virginia City.  The discussion has been tabled and will more than likely be discussed at a special meeting next week. Will send meeting information out once confirmed.

Wednesday evening after the school board meeting, the bond committee presented to the Lions Club and fielded any questions they had.  I would like to express my appreciation for the Lions Club and what they have done for the students of Ennis Schools! We are so fortunate on how the Ennis Community supports the schools, staff and students.

We have seen an uptick in covid cases this week mainly in the high school, unfortunately.  We have been very fortunate over the past several weeks and cases have been low.  The following were the number of cases reported to the school this week: STAFF-0, HS-6, JH-1, ELEM-0.  With the cases increasing statewide and within our county, we strongly encourage folks to please take the proper precautions and to keep an eye on your children for symptoms. If they are not feeling well, please keep them home.  For testing information, please contact the school nurse or your medical provider.  We have been asked about the procedures we follow for allowing students and staff back in school after being positive or a household contact.  Once we receive a release from Madison County Public Health, we abide by that release and allow staff and students back into school.

Prior to voting on the bond election, I encourage everyone to please view the informational video tours that are uploaded to the school website.  There are 11 videos that will take you through the facility and explain the deficiencies.  Please spread the word!  You can also look look at the following:

You should be getting a voter information pamphlet soon in the mail regarding the February 8th election.  With that pamphlet, there is an invite to an Open House on Saturday, January 22 from 1-3pm.  Ballots will be mailed January 19. As always, contact the school if you have any questions.

In closing, thank you for your support of Ennis Schools.  Enjoy the weekend!

Sincerely,

Casey Klasna
