Dear Mustang Families and Ennis Community,

Happy Friday!  Hope you are well and ready for the weekend.

As you already know, the bond failed with approximately 60% voting no and 40% yes. The voter turnout was 53%. We are already being asked what the district's next steps are. At this time, we are working on gathering information to get an understanding of the shareholders' concerns of the project.  We are hoping to get a questionnaire out to as many folks as possible within the next week.  Once we assess the results, we will determine how to move forward. As you have heard me say, it has been identified that we will continue to outgrow our facility with projected growth based on the 10 year lookback of enrollment trends and live birth data.  In addition,  our 1971 building needs to "catch up" to meet current code requirements. As always, we encourage you to contact the school with your feedback.

This week marks the last week of the regular basketball season.  Next week, the boys and girls will be at the combined district tournament at the MAC in Butte. We will be adding the bracket to the website with game times early next week.  We hope we can get as many fans there as possible.

We have our bus routes covered through this year with the recent hiring of two temporary drivers from VC. These drivers are only driving through this school year.  Please contact me if you have any interest in driving.

This week our positive covid cases are zero. We are happy to report that out as this is the first week since before Christmas that we haven't had a positive case.  We still need everyone’s help and vigilance to keep healthy kids in school and sick kids at home.  We appreciate your efforts!

We have advertised for a high school math teacher for next year.  We are hoping to gather quality applicants and get this position filled in a timely manner.  If you know of any potential candidates, please send them my way.

We are still looking for additional custodial staff to join our team. Great benefits and a great working environment! Please spread the word.

The next school board meeting is Tuesday,  February 15th at 5:30pm.

The school website has taken on a new look! We are still working out a few kinks, so thank you for your understanding.  Please check it out when you have a moment.

That is all for now.  Have a great weekend!
