The Ennis High Student Council sponsored a food drive in honor of Cat/Griz week. They had students bring in nonperishable food and place it either in a box for the Grizzlies or the Bobcats. A total of 178 pounds of food was collected and donated to the local food bank. The Bobcat fans brought in 108 pounds. Great job Mustangs!

Mrs. Hubner's 3rd grade just did their yearly pumpkin math project. Students guesstimate how many pumpkin seeds are in the pumpkin based on the lines on the side of the pumpkin and then group the seeds and count them. Looks like a messy, fun Halloween day project!

A group of boys decided to build an "ice cream truck" today at recess. It is so fascinating and enjoyable to witness student creativity at school every day. It looks like one little guy is even starting to make some ice cream in the "truck." Great job, boys! Thank you to Mrs. Schultz for taking this photo.

Thank you to the HS members of our fall extra-curricular teams for coming to greet the kids this morning as they came in for school. HS Cross Country, Volleyball, and Football participants lined the hallway to form a "Mustang Tunnel," and students were treated to high fives and fist bumps as they came through the doors. This is one of the many great things that come out of living in a small community and being part of a small school system that is all on one campus. It was truly a special moment seeing all the smiling faces come through the doors. Thank you HS students for taking a little time out of your day to have some fun with the younger members of our Mustang Family, and good luck in your contests this weekend!

It has been a great first week of school. We now have our kindergarten students with us so our Mustang Family is complete. We also have quite a few new faces this school year outside of the kindergarten so would like to welcome them to our Mustang Family and the Ennis community as well. I've attached some art work that our elementary counselor Mrs. Abbie McKitrick and one of our students drew that help exemplify the family culture we believe in here. As I said in our first day assembly, we are family, and we need to be there for each other and support each other through our good times and rough times as well. Thank you for trusting your children with us, for your support, and for being a part of our school and community. Let's have a great 2023-2024 School Year!

We had an incredible rainbow show up behind the American Flag at the Memorial next to the school last night. It made for an awesome photo opportunity as well as a moment to reflect on and appreciate our country and the community we live in.
