Students in both 2-Dimensional Design classes competed in an art contest for the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC) Land Offices. The objective was to create a piece of art that showed the theme, “Hot and windy, fire moves quickly!” Slogans needed to be clear, brief, and positive. Congratulations to Evie Baughman, Evelyn Orr, Adaleea Fast, Jaula Murphy, and Natalie Morgan for creating strong pieces!

Ennis Elementary students were treated to a performance by Montana Shakespeare in the Parks this morning! The MSIP program that comes to schools to put on performances and afternoon workshops is known as MT Shakes. The MT Shakes program is always very well done and provides students with excellent exposure to theatre and the visual and performing arts as well as various Shakespeare Plays that are slightly "tweaked" to meet the developmental levels of K-5 students. After eating lunch with students in the cafeteria, the MT Shakes actors and actresses come back in the afternoon to put on acting workshops for our 3rd-5th grade students. Thank you to MT Shakes for the excellent opportunity, and to the Ennis Arts Association for providing the funding each year to bring in such a valuable experience for our students!!

5th Graders Making a Difference:
Mrs. Gerlach's 5th grade class raised $771.22 to donate to Water for South Sudan! The donation was sent yesterday, along with thoughtful letters the students wrote to Salva, sharing how his story has inspired them and the difference it has made in their lives.

We are all grateful for the support from our community with this project. This project showed students that they can create real change in the world, even as 5th graders.

The attached picture shows students with their A Long Walk to Water final projects, where they retitled and created cover art to convey the plot, theme, and conflicts presented in the text.
