The 4th-8th Grade Madison County Spelling Bee was today in Virginia City. We had 9 students compete and 3 alternates attend the bee. Our students represented Ennis very well. Ultimately, Mustang 7th Grader Celee Klasna won the competition and 7th Grader James Henrich took 3rd. Celee will represent Madison County at the Montana State Spelling Bee on March 11th at 1 p.m. on the MSU campus in Bozeman. Congratulations to Celee, and great job to all of our participants!

Ms. Beckman's Physical Education classes wrapped up their Table Tennis Tournament last week. Click on the pictures to see who the champions were!

Students and staff celebrated the 100th day of school today by dressing up like they were 100 years old. I'd say they look pretty good for being 100! Happy 100th day everyone!

Kindness Project! A little kindness can go a long way in making the world a better place. Abbie McKitrick, school counseling intern, worked with K-6 grade students on what kindness really means. The students completed a kindness project where they decorated coffee sleeves with kind words or kind pictures to spread to the Ennis community. The three local coffee shops will have a “kindness day” this week to spread cheer to others. The students talked about what kindness is, what kindness looks like, what it feels like when someone is kind to them, what it feels like when they are kind to others, and how they can show kindness to others every day. Great job K-6 students - someone is really going to enjoy your message with their coffee this week and hopefully will pass your kindness along to others! See attached pics to see some of the great messages the K-6 students came up with!

Mrs. Klein's Kindergarten class was working on their Science Fair Project today. They were doing an experiment on thermal energy to test their hypothesis. Their hypothesis was based on how many mini candles it would take to provide enough thermal energy to turn the fans that they created. Their results and conclusions can be found at the Science Fair next Monday. Great job Kindergarteners!

Congratulations to 7th grader Celee Klasna for winning the 2022-2023 5th-8th grade School Spelling Bee! 5th grader Max Hale was runner up. Congratulations and thank you for representing our school at the County Bee!

Just a reminder that Ennis Schools has partnered with ParentGuidance.Org to provide resources to parents who are looking for some mental health support for their families and parenting strategies. Be on the lookout in the news section of the school website for monthly Mental Health Nights which are accessible via Zoom. Parents can register for events by clicking on the link in the news article or by accessing the QR code. All sessions are anonymous and by registering for the event, you have access to a recording of the zoom meeting in the event you cannot attend when it occurs.

It was game day at Colt Club yesterday! See pics!

Great job to the music students and music teachers Mrs. Zucker and Mrs. McCollom for their performances at the Holiday Concert last night. We had a lot of students out sick for the performance unfortunately, but the rest of the students stepped up and did a great job!

Mr. Malby and Ms. Beckman's PE classes did really well when Sargent Espinoza with Montana National Guard came in and had the students do three fitness tests: push-ups, plank holds and the sprint drag carry. The students seemed to enjoy the friendly competition!

The 3rd grade classes just finished up with "The Battle of the Pigs." They read 5 different books, all titled The Three Little Pigs. They voted on which one they liked best, and it was awarded the first place ribbon.
