Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read. Students are learning about books that have been targeted for removal in libraries and schools. Banned Book Week highlights the value of free and open access to information. 4th graders are celebrating their right to read!

John Underwood gave a presentation called "Life of an Athlete" to our 6-12 student body. The message was powerful and showed what stress, lack of sleep, and substance abuse will do to the brain and how critical it is to make healthy choices. Great information!

Ennis Schools in cooperation with the Madison Valley Medical Center will be hosting a Sport's Physical Day on Tuesday, July 30th at the Ennis Elementary Cafeteria. Physicals for students in grades 6th-8th grade will be from 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. and grades 9th-12th will be from 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m. The MVMC will also have an educational ”booth” regarding healthy eating for athletes. Appropriate MVMC providers will conduct the physicals. Cost of the physical is $20 made payable to the Madsion Valley Medical Center. All students grades 6-12 who wish to participate in athletics, must have a sport's physical prior to the first day of practice. We hope to see you on July 30th! If you cannot make it, please make sure that your child has a physical prior to the first day of practice.

Elementary Track Day was held on May 28th. Thank you Mrs. McNally for organizing this each year. Thanks, also, to all the staff and 7th/8th track team who helped run the track meet. It wasn't the nicest day, but the students competed hard and enjoyed the day nonetheless!
