Happy Friday! Just a reminder that the girls HS VB team will play at noon today at the divisional tournament and will take on Seely Swan. This game will be streamed on the NFHS network. All bracket information is on the school website. GO MUSTANGS!!
The monthly school board meeting is next Wednesday, November 10th at 5:30pm. A major item on that agenda will be reviewing bond election language for our building project. We will be getting additional building information out in the community with informational boards being placed at businesses around town. We do encourage you to contact the school if you have any comments, questions, or concerns. Your voice is very important to us and to this project!
We have an incredible student newspaper on the school website called “Mustang Monthly.” You can find this newspaper under the NEWS section of the website. This newspaper is added monthly to the website, so please spread the word.
Staffing continues to be an issue with a critical shortage of drivers and custodians. We have had to make the difficult decision to close routes on occasion due to the lack of drivers. This is a trend at the local, state, and national level. We need your help in spreading the word or applying for a driving position. Custodial wise, we could use one more full time person and would entertain a part-time position. If interested in any of these positions, please contact the school.
This week the following Covid-19 cases were reported - ELEM-2, JH-0, HS-0, STAFF-0. The last date of exposure from the positive case in the elementary was on Tuesday, November 2. With the other case, there was no known exposure at the school. These numbers could change due to pending tests. We cannot stress enough the importance of keeping your child home when they are sick. Your efforts are appreciated!

The school beehive was successful this year and produced honey! Thank you to all the volunteers and Ms. Diehl's culinary arts class for their help in harvesting the honey and taking it from hive to jar!
Tonight's VB matches versus Shields Valley is a go! JV starts at 5pm followed by the varsity. It is Pink Out for breast cancer awareness as well as Senior Night. Come out and cheer on our girls and support a great cause!
School start time is tenatively delayed until 10am due to weather. All morning bus routes canceled. Will assess the situation throughout the day and will keep families informed.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are Thursday, Sept. 29th from 1-6 p.m. School will release at noon. Elementary parents received a scheduled time for their conference and 6th-12th parents may schedule individually with their student's teacher or they may drop in when teachers have an open time. Homecoming Week Fun! The students are busy working on Homecoming this week. They have many competitions throughout the week to see which class comes out as the winners. These competitions involve the dress-up days, bonfire items, spirit posters, class competitions, and the floats. Please join us for the bonfire Wednesday night at 7pm, school wide parade at 1:15pm on Friday, the volleyball game on Friday at 4pm, and the football game Friday night at 7pm.
Please come out to the BBQ and bonfire on Wednesday, September 21st at 6pm! We will grill up some hotdogs, serve some ice cream and start the bonfire around 7pm. This will be happening at the elementary playground and football field. Come out and enjoy our outdoor facilitates and relax! We will also have information on our building project.
Mrs. Hubner's 3rd grade class learned about life cycles this week and created models of various life cycles. See attached pictures of some model samples.
The JH VB game scheduled for 3:30 this afternoon (9/9/21) versus Twin Bridges has been canceled. We will send our more information if this game will be rescheduled.

We have a lot of students taking advantage of the nice weather to walk or ride bikes to school. This is so great to see. We will continue to remind students about using crosswalks and how to safely walk to and from school. Please help on the homefront with this education as well. Finally, let's all be extra watchful in keeping our kids safe on the way to and from school.
Just a reminder that there is no school next Monday since it is Labor Day. School will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 7th. Enjoy the three day weekend!
Colt Club update: as mentioned in the welcome back letter, Colt Club is still up in the air while we see how the first month of the school year goes with COVID and we also work to staff this after school program for the year. The original start date posted on the website showed that it was to begin on Tuesday, August 31st - this has been postponed at this time. If you know of anyone interested in working Colt Club, please direct them to Elementary Principal, Brian Hilton. Interested persons will need to fill out an application and go through a background check to be considered.
Students were here bright and early for school this morning! It was so rewarding to see the smiling faces and the excitement for another school year here at Ennis Schools. It's so great to have the Mustang Family back together again after the summer break!
