Read Across America Week is over. Our students collected 300 pounds of pet food for our community's stray and rescue animals. Our students brought in $654 and our amazing Booster Club donated another $300. When we delivered the food we got to meet one of the fur babies that our donations will help. This is Cinder who was hit by a car. She was in labor and was due to have kittens any hour.

Read Across America Week is going on and today our students are wearing their animal ears. We are still collecting pet food and I believe we are on the verge of beating the Booster Clubs challenge!

Black out lunch with glow sticks for Read Across America Week!

Mrs. Swanson's 6th graders taught a math lesson to their 1st grade buddies in Mrs. Rice's class last Friday. It was so fun watching the older students interacting so positively with the younger students. Great job 6th graders!

Dear Ennis Grades 6-12 Families,
This morning, January 1, the Ennis School District was notified by the Madison County Health Department that five students in grades 7-12 tested positive for COVID-19.
The Madison County Health Department is currently in the process of investigating these specific cases and will be contacting individuals determined to be close contacts. Some families may have already been notified prior to receiving this letter. Investigating these cases takes time and we encourage you to answer your phone as it could be the Madison County Health Department. Even though we have not been in school since December 18th, there is a very good possibility that there will be close contacts identified due to students engaged in extracurricular activities throughout the break.
If your child is not determined to be a close contact and you have not been contacted by the Madison County Health Department, then school will be business as usual on Monday, January 4th. For students determined to be close contacts, they will be expected to attend school through remote learning and follow the bell schedule as if they were in-person. We encourage students to contact their teachers if questions arise and to be consistent in checking their Gmail and Google Classroom.
Please note that we will strictly adhere to privacy laws during a health pandemic outbreak and will not disclose identifiable information of those who have been affected. We recommend that any person who feels sick should stay home and seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.
We remind families to be patient and understanding during this challenging time and we need your continued support. Our priority is to keep our school doors open and need your cooperation in helping make that happen. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.
