Colt Club Last Week: this is the last week for Colt Club with the last day being Thursday, May 25th. The kids have tapped in to their creativity by creating animal habitats, homes, and condos! Thank you to our Colt Club Coordinator, Felicia Redfield, and the rest of the Colt Club staff for providing an after school opportunity for students this year!
Ms. Beckman's PE/Health classes had the Madison County tobacco specialist teach about how vaping/smoking effects the lungs. Students got to even touch pig's lungs.
We had Muffins in the Morning at breakfast today. Thank you to our kitchen staff and teaching staff for helping to put this on and to our parents who were able to make it. What a great way to start the day!
Talent Show and Clean Up Day - we had our annual Talent Show and Cleanup Day on May 15th. The K-12 talent show is always so much fun, and it's great to see our courageous students get up and perform in front of their peers. We followed up the Talent Show with our Annual Cleanup Day to get out in the community and show our appreciation for all the community does for us by picking up some of the garbage that has accumulated along our highways and streets. The students and staff worked hard and picked up several truckloads worth of garbage. Great job students!

Just want to give a shout out to the School Board, the Booster Club, the local businesses, and the parents who all did so much for our staff for staff appreciation week last week. It was so very much appreciated by our staff, and we are so thankful for the community support. Thank you so much!
High school's PE classes started learning pickle ball last week. Mrs. Zucker, Mrs. Pederson and Mrs. McKitrick came to help with rules and challenge the students!
Ms. Engle came in and taught archery to our 6,7&8 graders!
Mrs. Brozovich's and Mr. McKitrick's 4th Grade classes held their Annual Wax Museum on Friday, May 12th and did a great job as always. It was great to see and hear from all the historical figures!
It was great to get back to doing Bear Creek Days again after a few years off! 3rd and 4th graders went Tuesday this week, 5th and 6th graders went Wednesday, and 7th and 8th graders are going today. Thank you to the Forest Service and all of the other supporting agencies for putting on these valuable outdoor learning opportunities for the youth in our area!

Ducks and Chicks are starting to hatch in the Mrs. Klein's and Mrs. Rice's classrooms! This little bugger pecked its way out this morning in a very short amount of time and announced it's presence immediately to the world!
The junior high had a falconer presentation on April 17. John Aernt is a falconer and raptor expert from Minnesota. He attended the Raptor Festival in Boise this past weekend and was able to stop in Ennis on his way back home. He showed the students three different birds, explained characteristics of these birds, how they are used to hunt, etc. The students were able to see the birds close-up and ask many questions. Thanks to Mr. Gossack and his connections for this cool opportunity!
Good morning! The water situation at the school looks to back to normal at this time. Thank you to everyone who donated drinking water yesterday to help get through the day! Thank you, also, to our city crew and their efforts to get things back up and running.
Megan Knack has been rocking her personal fitness class. Here she is doing her max squat. She now has new personal best. Way to go Megan and great job to her spotters, Kaleb Rice and Jimmy Vogel!
The junior high and high school PE classes just finished their Badminton unit with a tournament. The junior high champions were Kahryn Vaudrin and Shaylee Klasna. The high school champs were Marisa Snider and Jack Melugin. Great job!
K-1 students were treated to a visit from a baby calf this morning! Thank you to Bill Wilson from the Jumping Horse Ranch for bringing in the little guy for show and tell!
MT Shakes from Montana Shakespeare in the Parks performed yesterday morning for K-5 students. The performance was excellent as allways and they followed up the morning performance with workshops for 3rd-5th grade students in the afternoon. Thank you to the Ennis Arts Association for helping to offset the cost of bringing in MT Shakes!
The April school board meeting will be on Tuesday, April 11th, NOT Wednesday, April 12th!
Elementary students are being treated to watershed lessons with the Rolling Rivers Trailer through the Ennis Schools Groww Program this week. Students get to experience hands-on learning about watersheds and how river systems work with erosion, the benefit of vegitation on erosion prevention, etc. See pictures!
Kindness Story and lesson from our students - I just wanted to share a story about some 5th grade kids who were walking by one of our parents who had a flat tire in the parking lot after school the other day. When they noticed the parent's problem, they quickly came over to assist her. These acts of impromptu kindness are the things that make our school and community a great place to be. We can all learn from these acts of kindness from kids that quite frankly I see many times a day in our school. In a day and age where there seems to be so much of a spotlight put on negative energy, this is just another example of our children providing the example on how we all should strive to behave and interact with each other. Thank you, Keyser, Sawyer, and Savannah, for providing this example for both students and adults alike!
