The first graders have been busy studying penguins and animal habitats. We have learned a tremendous amount about the different types of penguins, where they live, what they eat, and the height of each penguin. Everyone's favorite penguin always seems to be the Macaroni penguin because of their yellow tuft of hair. We have also learned the different types of habitats. To complete our unit, we created our own ecosystem complete with living goldfish and plants.
In addition, both classes are gearing up for Science Fair. Ms. Myer's class is testing apple slices and different liquids. Tune in to see if they can find the liquid that will stop the browning process. Mrs. Rice's class is testing leaves to see how they breathe. Come to the Science Fair to see the results!
