Notes from the Nurse:
What a year it has been! I can’t tell you how grateful I am to be here full time with our students. Most of you may already know this, but am fortunate enough to be employed by both The Madison Valley Medical Center and Ennis Schools. During the pandemic it has allowed me to offer testing right here at school for our students and our staff. In return I am able to be proactive in getting ill students/staff out of school and back into school in a timely manner. I believe we are the only school in Montana that currently offers the Covid RNA testing.
Just a friendly reminder to keep sick kiddos home. With minor symptoms such as a runny nose or sore throat, covid testing is not necessary. Keep them home for 24 hours to see if symptoms improve or continue to get worse. If they become worse you are welcome to call me at the school and discuss possible covid testing. When a student comes down with numerous cold symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, loss of taste and smell, with or without fever, it is highly recommended that you call me at the school and we can schedule a drive by covid swab. They may return to school with a negative test and absence of fever (less than 100.0*F). Siblings are actually allowed to be at school until a test result becomes positive. We are trying our best to keep students in school when we can.
This being said you’ve done a great job helping keep our student body healthy this year, so thank you! We have not had any community spread within our school and we are so very thankful for that.
In closing, this pandemic hasn’t been easy on anyone. I wanted to share some important information that may benefit you and your family both mentally and emotionally. It’s called the Covid Warmline. I have attached a flyer with more information. This line was created for all of us to use at no cost and complete confidentiality. If you or a loved one is struggling please reach out to this Covid Warmline. It could help immensely.
