There is definitely a shortage of school bus drivers at the local, state, and national level. We want to preserve our bus routes in Ennis. After much discussion, the Ennis School Board of Trustees has approved the following incentives and bonuses to be paid in hopes to attract and retain drivers.
Phase #1 - All class materials will be paid for by the district. Upon approval of hire by the Trustees, a $1000 bonus will be paid to the employee.
Phase #2 - Upon successful passing of all written tests and classroom test taking, a $1500 bonus will be paid to the employee.
Phase #3 - Upon successful passing of the skills test and road test, a $1500 bonus will be paid to the employee.
Phase #4 - Upon completing 6 months of employment, a $1500 bonus will be paid to the employee.
